Who we are

If you just browse

No analytics, advertising, social or tracking scripts run on this site, and we set no cookies for browsing. Your browser stores a few preferences on your own device (sound on or off, whether you’ve seen the intro, your quiz badge, and campaign tags from the link you followed for the duration of your visit). They never leave your device unless you submit a form.

Like every website, our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Our application logs record events without email addresses or IP addresses.

If you join the signal

When you submit a form we store:

• your email address and, if you give it, your first name;
• what you asked for (excerpts, release news, serial, formats, preferred stores, support level, optional note, quiz badge);
• the exact consent wording you agreed to and when;
• which page you signed up on, the campaign tags and referring website that brought you (if any), your approximate country, and a one-way hash of your IP address used only to fight abuse.

We also set one cookie, rf_sig, a signed random identifier that lets this device read the transmissions you unlocked. It contains no personal details and expires after a year.

We use this information only to send you what you asked for about Reward Function and to plan the book’s release (for example, print runs and stores). Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We never sell, rent or share your email for others’ marketing.

Where it’s kept

Signups are stored in a private database hosted by Supabase in the United States, reachable only by our server. The site is hosted by DigitalOcean and delivered through Cloudflare. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. If and when payments open, they will be handled by Stripe on a separate checkout; we will never see your card number.

How long

We keep your details while you’re on the signal. If you unsubscribe we stop emailing you immediately and keep only a record of the unsubscribe so we honour it. Ask us and we’ll delete everything.

Your choices

• Leave: every email will include an unsubscribe link, and you’re shown one the moment you join.
• See, correct or delete your data: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
• Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights, including to complain to your data-protection authority.

Children

Reward Function is a novel for adult readers. This site isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, for material changes, tell people on the signal.
